Pub Quiz, Road Closure

 Summer Quiz at The Black Horse Dry Drayton

There will be a Summer Quiz in the Garden of The Black Horse on Wednesday 1st August at 7pm. Tickets £5 per person – Teams of up to 6. (We may be able to put fewer numbers together to make teams). Start 7pm, with a break at 8pm for topping up drinks. Chilli and accompaniments will be available and can be pre-booked (£8.95 per person)

There will be a prize for the winning team, who will also choose the charity for all proceeds! Tickets available at the Bar or amanda@blackhorsedrydrayton.com

 Road Closure, A14 Dry Drayton exit slip to Oakington

Anglian Water are completing diversionary works for the A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon Scheme. Dry Drayton Road will be closed from Oakington Business Park (Phyper’s Farm) to the A14 exit slip. Farm access will be maintained.  The road will be closed from 06:00hrs on 28/07/2018 and will be re-opened at 05:00hrs on 30/07/2018. Access to Oakington Market on Saturday will be through Girton and Oakington.

Pub Quiz and various midweek news items

Great news – The Black Horse is having its very first Pub Quiz. It will be held on Wednesday 9th September 2009 starting at 7:00pm, 5 members per team. The winner will take away 2 bottles of their house Merlot/Chardonnay or Rosé.

There may be disruptions to post later this week – there is a 24 hour all out strike within the Mail Centre on Clifton Road Cambridge on Thursday. Morning deliveries will not be affected on Thursday, but their may be a reduced amount of mail on Friday. The strike commences on Thursday 18th September at 6am until Friday 19th September at 6am.  

The agenda for the next Parish Council Meeting has been posted on their Site.

For village bibliophiles, further progress is being made with the new Central Library in Cambridge – as you can see from the photo below the wooden hoarding has been removed from the library entrance on the first floor of the Grand Arcade.
