Village Jubilee Lunch, Bake Off & Singalong, Sunday 5th June
The S&VA is hosting a Village Picnic Lunch, Jubilee Bake Off and Singalong on Sunday 5th June to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Do come along to the school field on the day and join us. (Dressing up in a crown/tiara or anything else fun and patriotic is optional – but encouraged!)
The timetable is as follows:
11am onwards: Bring your entries for the Great Dry Drayton Jubilee Bake Off. The two entry classes are for ages 17 and under, and age 18 and over. All cakes must arrive for judging by noon. Prizes will be awarded to the cakes that best represent the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
11am: A special community church service of thanksgiving and celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. This takes place in the village marquee on the school field.
12 noon onwards: Bring your picnic lunch, rugs, chairs and yourselves! The marquee will be available in case of inclement weather. A Pimm’s stand will also be serving.
1pm: Commemorative Jubilee mugs will be handed out to all children in Reception through Year 6 who live in the village. (Extra mugs will be available for sale for £7).
1:30pm: Bake Off winners announced, and the entries will be sliced up and sold with teas, coffees and squash in the marquee.
2pm: Old time singalong in the marquee, accompanied by Edward Wickham on the keyboard.
