- DryDrayton Parish Council
The Parish Council meets on Tuesday 12 February at 8pm in the Village Hall. The agenda and minutes of the last meeting are at www.drydraytonpc.org.uk. In the last Village Newsletter the Chair of the Parish Council drew attention to the desperate need for additional councillors to join the Parish Council. It’s worth thinking for a few minutes about what might happen if the Council were to shrink further and there were not enough Councillors to form a quorum. Presumably the District Council might appoint someone to remedy this – and of course the appointee would need to be paid to attend meetings, which would make a hole in the Parish Precept. The District Council might join our Parish with another for a federated Parish Council – which would mean that key local decisions would be made by people from outside the village. So, please turn up and support the Parish Council and consider whether you might be willing to join the Council, even for a few meetings until the next elections. - Road closures A14
These seem to be too frequent to circulate individually. You can follow Highway England’s updates here Highways England | Improvements and major road projects and South Cambs version here: https://highwaysengland.co.uk/a14-cambridge-to-huntingdon-improvement-scheme-roadworks/
- Consultation on the Cambourne to Cambridge Better Public Transport Project.
There will be a consultation meeting on this in the Dry Drayton Village Hall Tuesday 5th March 17.00 to 18.30. Some, if not all, of the alternatives being discussed will have a negative impact on village traffic. Come and discover more and have your say.
- Cambridge to Oxford rail link
While considering future transport links, you might also want to have your say on alternative route proposals for this proposed rail link. Two of the options being considered pass within spitting distance of Dry Drayton. https://eastwestrail.co.uk/haveyoursay
